Arsenal suffered a frustrating 1-0 defeat against Paris-Saint Germain in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final clash.

The Gunners’ confidence was sky-high following their 5-1 humiliation of Real Madrid in the previous round. Many fans were even dreaming of the final and winning the competition.

But, PSG, who felt that Arsenal were overconfident, dominated the first 20 minutes of the first leg, and that good start was enough to help them win the game.

Many Arsenal players will be disappointed with their performance, but one of them was so good that he made it into the Champions League Team of the Week despite the defeat.

Myles Lewis-Skelly included in Champions League Team of the Week despite Arsenal’s loss to PSG

Arsenal youngster Myles Lewis-Skelly has been breaking all sorts of records this season.

The teenager has had an unbelievable campaign. He has become the Gunners’ first-choice left-back and is likely to have the same role with the England national team too.

Against PSG, the youngster was brilliant.

Lewis-Skelly became the youngest Englishman and youngest Premier League player to feature in a Champions League semi-final, aged 18 years and 215 days old.

Ethan Nwaneri broke that record when he came on, but Lewis-Skelly’s performance was so good that there’s a place for him in the official Champions League Team of the Week despite ending up on the losing side.

The Englishman is the only Arsenal player to get the nod this week, while four PSG stars made it into the team for their performances at the Emirates.

Lewis-Skelly’s stats vs PSG are so impressive

Lewis-Skelly is on track to become one of the best players in the world.

The youngster has been producing exceptional performances at the highest level and against the biggest teams without breaking a sweat. He has made it look so easy.

Against PSG, Lewis-Skelly maintained 100 per cent passing accuracy, completed all of his dribbles and created one big chance. He also won seven of his nine attempted duels, which is fantastic.

Sofascore named Lewis-Skelly as the fourth highest-rated player on the pitch, after Marquinhos, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Declan Rice.

Arsenal will need to come from behind in the second leg to make it into the final. Lewis-Skelly, hailed as ‘incredible’ by Gary Lineker, will be key once again at left-back.
