Inter Milan boss shares Arsenal verdict on Champions League final that will annoy Mikel Arteta

One half of the Champions League final has been decided as Arsenal wait to learn their fate at the Parc des Princes.

Arsenal will face Inter Milan in the Champions League final if the Gunners can overturn a one-goal deficit against Paris Saint-Germain.

The task will be a sizeable one, as PSG beat Arsenal comprehensively at the Emirates in the first leg, leaving Mikel Arteta with a hill to climb.

After seeing what Inter and Barcelona produced in a 13-goal thriller over two legs, PSG will be hoping for a less dramatic second leg in Paris, while Arsenal will be looking to cause chaos.

Simone Inzaghi reveals Arsenal verdict after reaching Champions League final

It’s highly unlikely that Arsenal’s meeting with Luis Enrique’s side will reveal a 4-3 scoreline like the tie in the other semi-final, where the San Siro were treated to a blockbuster.

Only one goal separates PSG and Arsenal at present, with Wednesday night’s hosts in control and aware of the trouble they can cause their opponent.

The stakes couldn’t be higher ahead of the clash at the Parc des Princes as a date in the Champions League final with Inter is on the line.

Speaking after the Nerazzurri’s extra-time win over Barcelona, manager Simone Inzaghi shared his thoughts on the other semi-final matchup.

“They are two great teams with two great coaches, with players that we know,” the Italian said of Arsenal and PSG.

“The Champions League final is going to be a great final, whether Arsenal or Paris Saint-Germain,” he continued.

What Inzaghi said next may annoy both Arteta and Enrique, as the Inter manager claimed that neither Arsenal nor PSG are the best in Europe.

“Probably Bayern Munich and Barcelona were the two best teams in Europe [this season], we need to be proud of what we have done.

“This was an extremely difficult match against an opponent that had an incredibly high level.”

Inzaghi was celebrating his team overcoming two impressive sides in Bayern and Barcelona, heading into the final with full confidence after slaying two beasts.

Seeing Inzaghi and Inter’s joy will only spur Arteta on to motivate his side to turn the tie around at the Parc des Princes.

For Arsenal, the stakes and stress levels couldn’t be higher, but for those in Milan, it’s a time of relaxation.

Hero of the semi-final second leg, Yann Sommer, revealed the squad’s plan to watch Arsenal’s decisive meeting with PSG.

“PSG and Arsenal are both good teams – we’ll enjoy this win tonight, and it will be easy [watching] tomorrow night from the couch. We will see.”

While Inter kick back and relax to watch the game unfold, Arsenal will fight for their spot in a Champions League final for the first time since 2006.
