Arsenal last won the Premier League title 20 years ago, but they did it in style as they finished the season unbeaten.

The Arsenal Invincibles won the Premier League in 2004 with 26 wins, 12 draws and zero losses from 38 games, and are the only side in the history of the competition to manage such a feat.

Arsene Wenger was the mastermind of the team, whilst attackers such as Thierry Henry and Robert Pires were crucial to the success of the side.

Arsenal did not succeed in the cup competitions that season, and reached the semi-finals of the League Cup.

Wenger used these games as an opportunity to rotate, and this saw young sensation Jeremie Aliadiere given a chance.

Although the Frenchman never truly made it at the club after, Aliadiere was outstanding in the League Cup and was part of the Invincibles squad. 20 years on, Aliadiere has praised the connections he forged during his time as an Arsenal player.

Jeremie Aliadiere reveals Arsenal Invincibles have a group chat with Arsene Wenger

Speaking to Pires via club media, Aliadiere revealed that the entire Invincibles squad, as well as Wenger, still have an active group chat 20 years on, and all remain in regular contact.

“I was going to say, that era when we played together, and what we had at Arsenal. I told you before, the whole group have a group chat, and that is something you won’t see for other teams,” Aliadiere stated.

“We still wish each other’s birthdays, and when I mean everybody, I mean everybody. Arsene Wenger’s in it, we’re all in it. That’s something that you wouldn’t have anywhere else.”

Jeremie Aliadiere’s breakthrough for the Arsenal Invincibles

Aliadiere appeared in 10 of Arsenal’s 38 league games in the Invincible season, but his key performances came in the League Cup.

The French striker scored four goals in four League Cup games in the campaign, helping Arsenal reach the semi-finals, where they lost to Middlesbrough.

This included a vital goal against Rotherham, a game in which Cesc Fabregas made his professional debut, two strikes against Wolves and one against West Brom in the quarter-finals.

Although Aliadiere was a fringe member of the Invincibles squad, it is telling that even he is still in contact with his old teammates 20 years after Arsenal triumphed.
