If you think about top Premier League wingers of the last few seasons, it’s hard to argue that Mohamed Salah and Bukayo Saka aren’t among the very best.
Saka has become the key player in attack for Arsenal while Salah’s record at Liverpool speaks for itself.
Of course, playing against either must be a nightmare and Fulham’s Antonee Robinson has now revealed what makes Saka just like Salah.
Who will you start as Arsenal’s striker in the Carabao Cup final – Viktor Gyokeres or Kai Havertz?
Why Bukayo Saka is just like Mo Salah
There are the obvious traits of both being left-footed players who like to cut inside and score goals. Both players are quick as well, while in terms of one on one wing play, few in the world are better.
Interestingly though, it is another trait that Fulham’s Robinson believes makes Saka like Salah.
“That’s a great question. I’ve been playing against Mo for years now and, typically against Liverpool, I feel like I play well. He’s one of those players that’s similar to Saka in that they cannot have their best game and still get a goal or an assist, so that always hurts. I’ve fared fairly well against him, it’s always a good battle,” Robinson revealed on Reddit.

“Depending on the player you’re playing against, you might have someone like Mo who’s quite direct, but very much left-footed, so you want to show him away from that.
“You could have a right-footed winger who’s all about pace and knocking it to the touchline, so you need to be wary of that and maybe show him into the defensive midfielders. Basically, trying to isolate what someone’s good at, what they like to do, and try to take them out of that comfort zone.”
Bukayo Saka v Mo Salah in the last three seasons
We’re talking about the very top level of players here when we look at Salah and Saka. Two players who walk into any line up in the world really.
Over the last few seasons, both have been exceptional for their clubs and countries but who holds the upper-hand?
In terms of pure goals, it is Salah who just holds the advantage at the moment. The last three seasons have seen Salah score 57 times, while Saka has done well, notching 46 himself.
As for assists, Salah also leads Saka in that regard too, with 34 to Saka’s 25.
Still, Arsenal’s homegrown hero remains an excellent winger in his own right and his numbers are by no means ‘bad’ at all. In fact, the sheer fact he keeps pace with Salah is a testament to just how good Saka has become.
