Mesut Ozil’s agent Dr Erkut Sogut has had his say about Mikel Arteta’s treatment of his client over the last few months, in an interview with TuttoMercatoWeb.
The German has been banished from the Premier League and the Europa League squads. He hasn’t played a game for us since March, and not many people know the real reason behind that decision.
Ozil has always divided opinion among Arsenal fans. Even now, some supporters feel Arteta is right to leave him out. However, there are many others who want to see him back in the squad to solve our creativity woes.

Ozil’s agent, Sogut, has had his say about the situation. He claims that his client is the perfect player to solve Arsenal’s problems, and Arteta is just wasting his talent and creativity by leaving him out of the side.
Sogut said: “It is not an easy situation. He loves the club and the fans deeply and is deeply sorry that he has not been given a chance, honestly, this season. Mesut was the player who reached 50 Premier League games with assists, faster than anyone else, in 141 appearances and Arsenal would need exactly this kind of creativity.”
“They say he was sidelined for ‘football reasons’, but that’s not something I can comment on. From a personal perspective, I say it’s a waste considering his talent and creativity.“

Should Arteta reconsider his stance on Ozil in January?
Everyone can see Arsenal’s problems at the moment. Our strikers barely have any service, and Arteta’s reliance on crosses seem pointless considering that none of our attackers are renowned for their heading.
If there’s one thing Ozil does, it’s create chances. He is arguably better than anyone else in the league at it, but Arteta seems determined to keep him out.
The January transfer window cannot come sooner for Arsenal. If we bring in a new creator, Arteta can justify leaving Ozil out yet again. However, if we fail to sign a new number 10, questions will be asked and the excuse of ‘football reasons’ will not cut it.
