Arsenal might be a divisive subject among fans and pundits when it comes to playing style but it seems that they are impressing those who matter the most.

The Gunners sit atop the Premier League table and can extend their lead by beating Everton this weekend.

Of course, much has been made of the style of play, with set-pieces a big focus. But it seems that the reality is that club chiefs actually admire Arsenal.

Why Premier League executives are impressed by Arsenal

In a report by The Athletic covering how the game feels about Arsenal in general, they claim that one executive has revealed how the Gunners are very much respected.

Quoting a current Premier League executive, their report states how Arsenal are very much admired and feared.

“Arsenal are like a python. They squeeze the life out of you. It’s strangulating. They play this very constricting, incredibly effective brand of football. There’s tremendous respect for Arsenal’s capability.”

At the moment, there is a narrative in the media and among pundits around Arsenal’s apparent reliance on set-pieces.

However, it seems that other Premier League teams are very much in admiration.

With Arsenal closing in on the Premier League title with this style of play, it will be interesting to see if other teams adopt such an approach in future seasons.

Interestingly, John Terry has backed Arsenal’s tactics on the same day as this report.

Should Arsenal get over the line, then when it all comes down to it, nobody will really care or remember how they got things done.
