Jack Wilshere has said Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has one impressive trait that few top-level coaches now have in the game.

The 41-year-old manager has transformed Arsenal since his appointment in 2019, with Arteta bringing a winning culture back to the Gunners as well as a positive mindset.

Such changes have seen Arsenal become Premier League title challengers, with the north London side also potential underdogs for this season’s UEFA Champions League.

And speaking on Up Front with Simon Jordan, Wilshere praised Arteta’s ‘humility’ a trait the Arsenal U-18 manager believes few now possess in the game.

Whilst Arteta has shown he can be ruthless, the Arsenal coach has clearly found success in tapping into the human side of his players, a trait only the best in the game now have at the highest level.

Wilshere said about Arteta’s management style: “The number one thing I think about is giving that arm around, he would be that guy, but I also remember him having heated discussions with other teammates.

“He can also be that guy and he understands that. But one of his biggest traits that I like about him is that he has a lot of humility, it’s not an easy thing to have as a coach.”
