Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior stepped up to the occasion on Tuesday night as he put in an exceptional performance against Real Madrid.

The Polish international was called into action for the Gunners in place of the injured Gabriel Magalhaes, who had otherwise held the position down at centre-back.

The fresh injury absence left many concerned about the threat of the Real Madrid attack, but Jakub Kiwior stood up to the test.

He helped Arsenal keep a clean sheet in the match, going a long way towards the advantage that the Gunners now have.

Following Arsenal’s win over Real Madrid, there was plenty of praise for the star, who was something of an unsung hero compared to some of his teammates.
