Arsenal have seriously levelled up as a club in recent years under Mikel Arteta.
Indeed, the Gunners have gone from being pretenders to contenders in the Premier League, challenging for the title on numerous occasions.
With their improvement on the pitch, Arsenal have also become a more alluring destination too as the likes of Declan Rice and Riccardo Calafiori have snubbed huge clubs to join the Gunners.
Alexander Isak has been a key Arsenal target for quite some time now, but now, Liverpool are in for Isak.
Speaking on TalkSPORT, Jamie O’Hara has been discussing the ongoing interest in Isak, and he says that Arsenal would have no chance of beating Liverpool in this race.

Jamie O’Hara says Arsenal couldn’t beat Liverpool to Alexander Isak signing
O’Hara claimed Alexander Isak would much rather join Liverpool than Arsenal.
The pundit tried to argue that Arsenal are way below Liverpool in the footballing ecosystem, claiming that Arsenal would never be able to beat Liverpool to Isak.
“It is a food chain what do you think the food chain is in a primarily at the moment you’re looking at probably Liverpool and Man City,” O’Hara said.
“Arsenal aren’t in that bracket, they’re in that in between bracket of you know Man United, Spurs, Newcastle, Chelsea, Arsenal are like just a just in that bracket above them you know but like a million miles away from Liverpool. They’re just above Spurs.
“Arsenal fans are saying ‘Why are we not going for Isak well because Liverpool going for Isak now, so there’s only one place he’s going.
“if they do agree a fee, Liverpool will match it and there’s only one place Isak is going. I don’t think they can compete, if Isak was available I don’t think they would get him over a club like Liverpool.”
Arsenal just beat Liverpool to a key signing in Martin Zubimendi
You can tell Jamie O’Hara is a Tottenham supporter, because he’s certainly trying to rile up Arsenal supporters with these types of comments.
Indeed, O’Hara is making a very weak argument here, and it falls down at the very first hurdle.
O’Hara appears to suggest that Arsenal could never beat Liverpool to a signing, but the Gunners have already made a signing this summer that dispels that view.
Arsenal have signed Martin Zubimendi already this summer in a deal worth £51m and that’s just 12 months after Zubimendi rejected Liverpool despite the Reds’ best attempts to sign the midfielder.
Arsenal are one of the biggest clubs in world football, and they can compete with the best of the best for big signings these days due to their on-field improvements and financial strength.
O’Hara’s argument doesn’t stand up to any sort of scrutiny. Arsenal beat Man City to the signing of Declan Rice and they beat Liverpool to the signing of Martin Zubimendi.
Make no mistake about it, Arsenal are there or thereabouts at the top of the footballing foodchain.
