William Saliba is one of the best defenders in world football.
The Arsenal star has been immense since he made his debut on the opening day of the 2022/23 season, and he has barely put a foot wrong since.
That sort of consistency for someone so young is very rare to see in football, especially in the heart of the defence.
That is why Saliba is widely regarded as an elite player, but John Terry doesn’t think so.
Have Arsenal ever had a better defensive partnership than William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes? If yes, tell us who!
John Terry says Arsenal star William Saliba is not world-class
Terry is one of the greatest centre-backs England has ever seen.
The Chelsea icon was outstanding during his prime, and he shared great partnerships with a few other top-class Premier League centre-halves.
Having watched that all those years ago, you would imagine that Terry would be a good judge of today’s central defenders.
After hearing what he said about William Saliba, we’re sure that Arsenal fans will be furious and completely disagree with his statement.

In a video on his TikTok, a bunch of names were thrown at Terry, and he was asked whether they are world-class players or not.
When Saliba’s name was prompted, the Englishman didn’t even hesitate before saying: “Not world class!”
That is beyond baffling, as the Arsenal number two is regarded by almost everyone else in the game as a world-class central defender.
Perhaps Terry is letting Chelsea’s rivalry against Arsenal cloud his judgment. We would probably be the same if our side were winless in the last 11 meetings.
What’s your message to John Terry after he said William Saliba is not world-class?
John Terry says two other Arsenal stars are world-class
Saliba isn’t the only Arsenal player Terry said was not world-class.
Eberechi Eze, Martin Zubimendi and Martin Odegaard were all put in front of the former Chelsea skipper, and his answer was the same for them as well.
However, Terry did acknowledge that two Arsenal stars are indeed world-class.
They are Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice, and we think he is spot on in that regard, despite the former’s injury struggles this season.
We hope Terry will revisit his claim about Saliba and change it because that’s not right at all.
