Jorginho has given a behind the scenes insight into what it is like to be an Arsenal player on a match day.
Jorginho is one of the senior figures in the Arsenal dressing room.
Mikel Arteta has constructed a mature and intelligent squad of players at the Emirates Stadium.
Whilst Arteta has previously named Jorginho as the most intelligent player he has ever worked with, there are a number of individuals within the first team group who are trusted with leadership roles.
Club captain Martin Odegaard is an obvious example, but Bukayo Saka is a talismanic figure too, and the likes of Gabriel Magalhaes and David Raya take responsibility for keeping things organised at the back.
The manager also has faith in his coaches too. Nicolas Jover is in charge of the Gunners’ set-piece instructions, and the North London outfit have proven themselves to be devastatingly effective in those situations. Jover has been dubbed Arsenal’s secret weapon in the past.

Jorginho reveals Arsenal half-time routine
Jorginho has now opened up about what goes on in the Arsenal dressing room at half-time during matches, and it has become clear that a number of people are given the opportunity to speak.
Offering his insight on the Seaman Says podcast, the veteran midfielder said: “It’s a good moment, because as soon as we come in then Nico [Jover] comes to speak about set-pieces and stuff like that, and then Mikel comes in and speaks about what we need to do.
“Then you see players talking to each other as well, especially in the units, you know. Like, for example, Big Gabi [Gabriel Magalhaes] with Saliba, speaking about something. Then Bukayo and Martin [Odegaard] speaking about something.
“You see the units trying to talk and make it better, or keep doing what they are doing if it’s working. So, I think we are in a good place.”
Mikel Arteta puts faith in Arsenal players
It is clear from Jorginho’s account that Arteta trusts his players to communicate and find solutions to some problems on the pitch for themselves.
Gabriel and William Saliba have been deemed the best centre-back partnership in the Premier League before, and a great deal of their success as a duo must be put down to the effectiveness of their communication, which is clearly maintained during the half-time break.
Saka and Odegaard are also an effective attacking pairing and are often responsible for breaking down opposition defences. Much of their ability to do this may well owe to the plans they concoct during the break.
