Jorginho suggests player Arsenal sold for £24m was even better than Dennis Bergkamp

Arsenal star Jorginho has just placed Robin van Persie higher in his blind rankings than Gunners legend Dennis Bergkamp.

We have had quite a few players from the Netherlands over the years, but nobody even comes close to how good Bergkamp was. Jorginho, however, ranked Van Persie above him this week.

Dennis Bergkamp is a hero to many Arsenal fans and is one of the greatest players to ever play in the Premier League.

The Dutchman was a joy to watch. He could score goals, provide assists and was at times levels above every other player on the pitch.

Bergkamp made many people fall in love with Arsenal, and he will forever be a legend of the club. Robin van Persie, on the other hand, is the complete opposite.

The former Feyenoord man spent eight years as a Gunner. Arsene Wenger stuck by him throughout his injuries and difficult moments, but the Dutchman turned his back and we had to sell him to Manchester United for £24 million.

In a video on Goal, Jorginho was asked to blindly rank players from one to five. When Van Persie’s name was prompted, the Italian put him at the top of his list.

The next name that came up was Bergkamp’s, and Jorginho put him in second place, below Van Persie.

Dennis Bergkamp was levels above Robin van Persie

Robin van Persie will definitely dispute this, but everyone who knows anything about football will agree that he wasn’t even half as good as Dennis Bergkamp.

Arsene Wenger recently compared the two Dutch players for their technical ability, but as an all-round player, there is always going to be only one winner.

Bergkamp was a magician. He knew what would happen two passes before it actually did, and that made him one of the greatest players of his generation.

Van Persie can only dream of being remembered as fondly as Bergkamp is even to this day.
