England won two out of two games during the international break.

Indeed, while the Three Lions were far from perfect against Andorra over the weekend, they beat Serbia on Tuesday by some distance and with some style.

England won 5-0 in Belgrade in midweek, and, once again, one of the star performers was Declan Rice.

Rice scored against Andorra over the weekend, and he was brilliant against Serbia on Tuesday.

Speaking on the Football Daily Podcast after the game, Paul Robinson has been discussing Thomas Tuchel’s side and Jude Bellingham’s place in this England team.

According to the pundit, Bellingham needs to start being more like Rice for England, claiming that the midfielder was brilliant against Serbia in terms of getting into the box and making things happen.

Jude Bellingham needs to be more like Declan Rice

Robinson spoke about the role Bellingham should play in this England team.

The pundit says he wants Bellingham to do similar to what Rice has done over the past two games, getting into the box and making things happen, while also controlling the midfield.

Rice has been hailed recently, and Bellingham may want to take note.

“You want him (Bellingham) to do similar things to what Cole can do, even similar things to what Declan Rice is doing.

“He (Rice) will probably be really frustrated tonight. He’s not got a goal here, you know, had some glorious chances and that’s because his timing is so good.”

Declan Rice’s recent England record compared to Jude Bellingham

Two years ago, it would have been crazy to suggest that Bellingham needs to emulate Rice in terms of his goalscoring and attacking output.

Indeed, Bellingham was scoring for fun after signing for Real Madrid in 2023, but, since then, the goals have somewhat dried up as he scored just nine in La Liga last season.

Bellingham and Rice’s goalscoring records for England over the past two years aren’t all that different.

Bellingham is still scoring more than Rice internationally, but that gap is closing, while Rice is doing more defensively too.

This England squad is jam-packed full of talent, and while Bellingham is a top player, he’s far from undroppable.

The Real Madrid star may want to step things up for his country ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
