Arsenal star Jurrien Timber has revealed which two Real Madrid shirts he added to his collection after recording a huge win over the Spanish giants in the Champions League this season.

The Gunners were viewed as underdogs compared to the 15-time champions of the competition, with the added challenge of playing away from home in the second leg.

Plenty of fear was thrown out of the window, as Arsenal recorded a huge win at the Emirates Stadium, scoring three past Los Blancos to take an advantage with them to the Bernabeu.

While plenty of talk about a remontada followed, it was to be another night for those travelling from north London to remember.

Arsenal beat Real Madrid 2-1 on the night, 5-1 on aggregate, booking themselves a place in the final four of the competition.

It was a memorable night for the club in the Champions League, with plenty of moments to remember it for.

Jurrien Timber reveals he swapped shirts with Vinicius Jr and Jude Bellingham after Arsenal win over Real Madrid

Arsenal star Jurrien Timber has impressed throughout the season, but it seems as though he managed to hit another level entirely against Real Madrid.

The full-back was impressive defensively, locking down the same wing as Vinicius Jr and offering the Brazilian absolutely nothing in the way of chances.

On the ball, Timber was able to tuck into midfield and overlap on the wing, showing his versatility not only in position but in role too.

In the end, the Netherlands international was a key part of that victory, taking a moment to land his own memorabilia from it too.

Speaking on the Sky Sports One on One podcast, Timber revealed the two Real Madrid players he swapped shirts with after each game.

He said: “I got Vini’s [Vinicius Jr’s] shirt last week and [Jude] Bellingham’s this week.”

It’s the type of memorandum that money can’t buy for players who can have something to remember their performances by.

Not least with Vinicius Jr in particular, with Timber going on to praise the star and talk about the battle they faced.

Jurrien Timber praises Vinicius Jr’s ability

After facing Vinicius Jr for nearly 180 minutes, Jurrien Timber is well acquainted with the winger and his ability.

The Arsenal star revealed how he felt about facing the Brazilian, giving praise to both his opposition and his teammates.

He said on One on One: “I feel very secure as well because of my teammates, I know maybe I make a mistake, they will always have my back and be ready to pick things up for me, and I’ll be there for them.

“That’s why I also feel secure and very confident on the pitch. It’s also a nice battle to see where you’re at if you play against these top wingers.

“It’s been going on the whole season already, but Vinicius is one of the best players in the world, so it was a nice challenge.”

At just 23 years old, Timber is proving himself to be one of the best full-backs out there right now, with plenty of room to develop and grow.

That may only come from playing on the biggest stages against the best players, something he has some experience with now.
