Arsenal star Kai Havertz has found his confidence again after joining from Chelsea last year, and is now part of a title-challenging squad.
Havertz initially struggled after his big-money move from Chelsea, but is now thriving as a striker, whilst Chelsea are continuing to struggle on and off the pitch.
The German scored a brace in a 5-0 win over Chelsea in April, and he has now been joined by former teammate Raheem Sterling, who joined Arsenal on deadline day.
Havertz did win the Champions League at Chelsea, and played alongside some top-class players under Thomas Tuchel. However, he has now claimed that Arsenal teammates William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes have formed a partnership which has amazed him.

Kai Havertz praises Arsenal centre-backs William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes
Speaking to TNT Sports, Havertz claimed that Arsenal’s centre-back partnership is “incredible,” and has quality like which he has never seen before.
“Incredible. Honestly, I felt it when I played against them when I was at Chelsea, and they were already there together, but to see them actually compete for their own team is incredible,” Havertz stated.
“I don’t know, I’ve never seen a combination like theirs, both of them are so relaxed on the ball, and they’re both fantastic defenders.
“Especially when you see now Saliba I don’t know how he’s 22 or 23, he is insane, and then Gabi is for me also ridiculous, how many situations he saved us in not to concede a goal, with shot blocking or whatever, is crazy, and I think we’re all glad to have them, and I hope we have them for many, many years, because they are they’re fantastic.”
Kai Havertz played alongside some world-class defenders
Havertz’s praise for Saliba and Gabriel is significant given that he has played alongside some other incredible defensive partnerships.
He played alongside Thiago Silva and Antonio Rudiger when Chelsea won the Champions League, but they lined up in a back three rather than a partnership, but they were both world-class centre-backs.
Havertz has also played alongside greats such as Mats Hummels for Germany, but Saliba and Gabriel have so much quality, individually and as a partnership, that they are right up there as the best in Europe.
