Arsenal have their fair share of famous fans across the globe.

Indeed, numerous celebrities support Arsenal, with Anne Hathaway going viral last season for her support of the Gunners.

However, perhaps the most famous Arsenal fan on the planet right now is the current Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Keir Starmer.

Starmer has been outspoken about Arsenal in the past, and speaking to Jimmy’s Jobs of the Future, the politician has again been speaking about the Gunners.

Starmer was asked to name his favourite Arsenal manager of all-time, which, inevitably, was the great Arsene Wenger, before telling a personal anecdote about his relationship with the Frenchman.

Starmer spoke about Wenger being his favourite Arsenal manager, and meeting him in his current role.

Wenger is currently FIFA’s Chief of Global Football Development, so while he’s not currently managing, he’s still changing football as much as he ever did.

Starmer says that Wenger’s appetite to change football is utterly incredible, even at the age of 75.

“Favourite Arsenal manager?” Starmer was asked.

“I’ve got to go for Wenger. Transformative, an incredible man, I’ve got to know him subsequently and his interest in the sport and not just how he changed it, how he wants to change it, is quite incredible,” Starmer said.

Wenger may be Starmer’s favourite ever Arsenal manager, but the Prime Minister is also a big fan of Mikel Arteta.

Indeed, during his rise as Labour leader, Starmer actually compared himself to Arteta and his journey at Arsenal in terms of turning around a struggling team.

“That’s actually an easy one for me at the moment because I feel an affinity with Arteta, the Arsenal manager

“If you look at his journey, he was appointed, it was hard to turn that Arsenal team around. To start with people said he can’t do it, there was talk about whether he should continue, and look what he’s done now.”

Starmer got the job done on the political front by winning the 2024 general election, and now, it’s over to Arteta to get the job done on the pitch by winning the Premier League title with Arsenal.
