Kevin Campbell was asked to predict his Arsenal Player of the Season in the upcoming campaign, and the former Gunner named William Saliba.

The Gunners had a sensational campaign last time out. We can easily make an argument for about eight players that they deserved to win the Player of the Season award, but it was Martin Odegaard who won it in the end.

The Norwegian will be a strong candidate again in the upcoming campaign, as will Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli, but Campbell believes Saliba will be the one to win it at the end of the season.

Kevin Campbell says William Saliba will win the Arsenal Player of the Season award

We don’t know about you, but we’re really excited about the start of the new Premier League campaign this weekend.

Arsenal have had a decent pre-season and we did what we had to do against Manchester City to win the Community Shield as well last Sunday.

We really do look like we can compete with Pep Guardiola’s side, and everyone is now coming up with their predictions for the new season ahead of its start.

Campbell revealed his prediction when asked who he thinks will be Arsenal’s Player of the Season in the upcoming campaign.

“Saliba,” he said on The Highbury Squad YouTube channel without any hesitation.

The Insider’s View:

It is pretty rare for centre-backs to win the Player of the Season award, but we won’t be surprised at all if William Saliba bags the accolade at Arsenal next season.

The Frenchman has been absolutely outstanding for us. Last season was his first-ever campaign in England, and he made it look easy at times.

He was fantastic in the Community Shield last weekend as well, and if he stays fit for the entire season, Arsenal have every chance of winning the Premier League title.

It is a slight surprise that Campbell went with Saliba ahead of the likes of Saka, Martinelli, Declan Rice and Odegaard, but we have to say, it’s a great shout.
