Kieran Gibbs is still backing Arsenal to win the Premier League title this season, with Mikel Arteta’s team showing how to bounce back after defeat.
Arsenal have managed to put together solid runs of form following defeats against Aston Villa in December and Manchester United last month.
🏆 How many points will Man City and Arsenal take from their next five Premier League matches?
The Gunners will need to do the same against Wolves on Wednesday following a frustrating 1-1 draw with Brentford last week.
Man City are just four points behind Mikel Arteta’s team right now, but the former Gunner is confident his ex-team will last the distance.
Kieran Gibbs hails Arsenal’s bouncebackability
Kieran Gibbs has praised Arsenal’s bouncebackability this season and thinks it will win them the Premier League title.
Every time the Gunners have failed to win this season, they have responded with a victory, and that is a great trait to have.
Tijjani Reijnders claims that City are ‘hunting’ down the North London club in the title race, but Gibbs still thinks Arteta’s team will win the league.
“It sounds very personal, doesn’t it, saying he’s chasing Arsenal? I think he said hunting. I think he’s hunting the Premier League,” Gibbs told ESPN FC.
“It doesn’t matter who’s in front, and they’ve done well to get themselves in this position. I think across the board in the Premier League, no one’s really lifted trees this season.
“There’s inconsistency across the board, and so it is for me; it’s going to come down to probably the last one or two games, I reckon.

“I think City are going to drop points, but there’s a case to be made that Arsenal will as well. I think what gives me confidence in Arsenal this season is that every time they have had a setback or big criticism, they’ve bounced back.
“They lost to Man United, they bounced back immediately and put in a run. They lost to Villa, and they put on a run.
“I think in previous seasons when they have been beaten, they’ve let that drag for two or three games, and it’s like a hangover. But they’re shaking off those hangovers quicker, and they’re just tough to beat.
Kieran Gibbs says Arsenal have a ‘stronger platform’ than Man City
The former Arsenal defender also believes that Arsenal have a ‘stronger platform’ than Man City, given the quality of their squad.
The 36-year-old thinks the Gunners now have the best holding midfielder and defence in Europe.
He added: “They’re tough to beat. They’ve got the best back four in Europe and the best holding midfielder in Europe. So, they have a stronger platform for me this season to go all the way.”
