Arsenal made signing of the season

Garth Crooks believes that Arsene Wenger has made the signing of the season by bringing in Sead Kolasinac on a free in the summer. After being eased into the starting line up and missing some games earlier in the season Kolasinac is now an integral member of the side. Crooks said:

“I was very impressed with Sead Kolasinac when Arsenal played Chelsea at Stamford Bridge earlier in the season and he has since become a regular feature in the Gunners set-up. Kolasinac only joined the club at the beginning of the season, and on a free transfer, which really does knock the stuffing out of all those Arsenal ‘know it all’ supporters who have been caning Arsene Wenger for not spending millions on players the manager thinks are not worth it. Kolasinac must be the signing of the season and he already looks like a player who has won the respect and admiration of his team-mates. The goal he scored against Swansea was well taken, but the move and assist for Aaron Ramsey to score was just fabulous football from the Bosnia-Herzegovina international.”

The left-back has featured in ten games for Arsenal this season scoring twice and assisting three times.

‘Very hard’ to go unbeaten – De Bruyne

Manchester City and Belgium midfielder Kevin De Bruyne does not think that Manchester City, or anyone, will be able to match Arsenal’s invincible season. When speaking with City’s website he played down any talk of his side doing the same this season, stating that there are more big sides to play against now. De Bruyne said:

“To go unbeaten? Well, it’s very hard. I don’t think it will be possible. The level of competition is so high, in every team. It’s not like, with all respect, 10 or 15 years ago where you have a couple of teams that won’t win against the top teams. Now, every game is hard and you need to be mentally there. And with the Champions League and all the cups, there will be a game where maybe we are a little bit less and maybe lose. But as long as our form keeps going, it’s good.”

Arsenal have the chance to stop City’s impressive start to the season this weekend when the sides meet.

Perez hits form for Deportivo

On loan forward Lucas Perez was on hand to help Deportivo la Coruna come from behind at Las Palmas. The home side took an early lead before Deportivo equalised before the break. Perez then set up the second goal before adding the third from the penalty spot to secure the win. Perez has scored in three of his last four league games for the La Liga side.

Arsenal in line for Championship star

Arsenal are looking into a January bid for Ipswich Town wonderkid Tristan Nydam. The fee is expected to be around £2 million and he may return on loan to Suffolk for the rest of the season to continue his development. After making his debut in the League Cup in August, Nydam has gone on to feature in Ipswich’s good start to the season. The 17-year-old has made 12 appearances in total for the side.
