Stan Kroenke will flash the cash in an attempt to keep contract rebel Samir Nasri at the Arsenal, reports the Daily Mail this morning. The story comes as Arsene Wenger asked Nasri to show loyalty to the club that shaped him into the player he is now.
Wenger said: “I expect him to stay. And if you look at his career it is the club that made him the player he is today.”
The paper says that there is a real fear from within the Gunners top brass that Nasri will leave this summer as he stalls on signing a new deal. The report claims talks have stalled over Nasri’s wage demands, with the midfielder after £20,000-per-week more than the £90,000-per-week the club have offered.
Now, says the Mail, majority shareholder Kroenke is poised to give the go-ahead to increase Nasri’s original offer to nearer the £110,000-per-week he is wants.
It is reported that Kroenke hopes keeping Nasri will help keep the lid on unrest amongst Gooners after a sixth season without silverware as well as a 6.5 per cent hike in ticket prices at the Emirates.
