We’re only three games into the Premier League season, but predictions continue to flow in surrounding Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester City and their chances of winning the title.
All three teams have a good claim to be the champions come May 2026, but there is plenty of football to be played between now and then.
For Arsenal, the wait to be crowned as champions is now over 20 years, with the Gunners failing to land a league title since the Invincibles.
Under Mikel Arteta, the team has come close, finishing as runners-up on three consecutive occasions.
The last time that was seen in the league was under Arsene Wenger, who went on to win the whole division at the fourth attempt.
Arsenal will be looking to channel some of that into their own chase, but in rivals such as Liverpool and Man City, they have credible challengers.
Now, as the season starts to get into full flow, Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe has discussed the Premier League title race and has picked out one team to win it.

Kylian Mbappe backs Arsenal to win the Premier League with core squad together
Arsenal’s defeat to Liverpool last time out saw the team’s chances of winning the league take a dent, but it’s still early days.
With 35 games still to go, including another head-to-head between the teams, there will be plenty of chances for the Gunners to catch up, along with Man City, after their difficult start.
When speaking to BILD on international duty, Mbappe was asked about this season’s title race, outlining the strength of all three challengers.
“Of course, Liverpool has to be mentioned first and foremost,” the Real Madrid star said. “As they’re determined to win one title after another.
“But I also have high hopes for Arsenal, because the core of the team has known each other for a long time, and that’s a crucial factor in football.
“And Manchester City is always at the forefront anyway, with Pep Guardiola and Erling Haaland.”
When pressed into picking a winner, Mbappe said: “That’s tough. Maybe Arsenal, maybe it will be their year. It would certainly be easier to say City or Liverpool.”
Mbappe’s friendship with Saliba may well have helped persuade that answer, given the two are close, with hopes that the club could do well for his friend.
However, it wasn’t that long ago that Arteta suggested that Arsenal could’ve signed Mbappe as part of their title charge.

Mikel Arteta wanted Kylian Mbappe at Arsenal
While Mbappe is now lighting it up in La Liga with Real Madrid, there was a very small chance he could’ve been an Arsenal player.
Arteta claimed that the club should be in for someone like him, as his PSG contract came towards a close.
Speaking in 2024, the Arsenal boss said: “Why not? If we want to be the best team, then you need to have the best players, that’s for sure.”
When asked about the project, he added: “The club that we are, I don’t think that’s ever been an issue. Everyone wants to play for Arsenal.
“At least with the players we’ve discussed, they’ve always had a smile on their face when you open the door to that discussion. That’s because of our history and everything we’ve done in the past.”
He also went on to say: “When there is a player of that calibre, we always have to be in that conversation. But it looks in a different way, that’s what I would say.”
In the end, Mbappe went to Real Madrid, but things could’ve been different if the move to Arsenal had been on the cards.
