Mikel Arteta has instructed Andrea Berta to sign Nicol Williams
Andrea Berta is set to become Arsenal’s new sporting director and has already been given his first assignment by boss Mikel Arteta.
According to Football Transfers, Arteta has made it clear that the first priority for the incoming Berta is to sign Spanish winger Nico Williams.
It has been claimed that: “Arsenal’s manager has made it clear to the incoming sporting director that he ought to focus on securing complete buy-in from Williams as his first order of business”.
Firepower and pace has been severely lacking in the Gunners side this season and Williams would certainly provide that if he can brought to North London.

David Ornstein provides Arsenal transfer update
David Ornstein has provided his latest Arsenal transfer update ahead of what is sure to be a busy summer of activity both in and out of the club.
When asked about for The Athletic about a reported £300m budget for the Gunners Ornstein stated: “I’m not aware of a specific number, but Arsenal recently posted healthy financial results.”
In terms of the Gunners pursuit of Martin Zubimendi, Ornstein provided more clarification and optimism for Arsenal fans that the Spanish midfielder will be in a red and white shirt next season.
Ornstein stated: “As far as we know, Martin Zubimendi is at a very advanced stage & the anticipation inside Arsenal is that he’s coming in.”
The journalist did go on to explain that in his own opinion he doubts that Bruno Guimaraes will also be purchased but that he expects both Thomas Partey and Jorginho to depart the club.

Nathan Butler-Oyedeji and Marli Salmon impress in Arsenal U21 win
Arsenal’s U21 side enjoyed a 2-1 success over Everton and there were impressive displays from both Nathan Butler-Oyedeji and 15-year-old defender Marli Salmon.
Butler-Oyedeji has played just one minute of first-team football this season but scored two goals for the Arsenal academy side in the victory.

Having already impressed this season and being compared to William Saliba, Salmon also once again showed promise in his display during the 2-1 victory.
Salmon made his third appearance of the season for the U21 side and was commanding both in the air and in ground duels whilst showing great composure and maturity on the ball.
