Catch all the latest Arsenal news, including updates on Bruno Guimaraes transfer, Chelsea red card and Raheem Sterling deal.

Arsenal landed all three points and the bragging rights over the weekend when they managed to beat London rivals Chelsea.

A headed goal from Mikel Merino gave the Gunners a lead that never looked like slipping out of their grasp.

The March international break is now here and while some players will be jetting away with their nations, others will be training at London Colney in preparation for the weeks ahead.

So with that said, here’s a look at the latest Arsenal news ahead of another busy day.

Bruno Guimaraes to Arsenal transfer chances

Arsenal have recently been linked with a possible transfer for midfielder Bruno Guimaraes heading into the summer transfer window.

The Brazilian has impressed while at Newcastle, leading to interest from teams such as the Gunners in the coming months.

Speaking to Arsenal Insider, TBR Football’s Graeme Bailey said on a possible deal: “Bruno is not as advanced as some reports have suggested.

“I personally think that he’ll be a lot harder to get out of Newcastle than Alexander Isak. He’s had the new contract, and could possibly get another one out of Newcastle, it’s a very different situation with his to Isak.

“I don’t think Bruno is at the top of any Arsenal list. Zubimendi talks are continuing, they do want another.”

Chelsea red card verdict after Arsenal call

Arsenal managed to run out as 1-0 winners over London rivals Chelsea over the weekend, registering a huge victory in the context of their campaign.

One moment could’ve swung against the Gunners though, that being a bold decision by referee Chris Kavanagh.

The official decided against showing a yellow card to Wesley Fofana on several occasions that could’ve resulted in a red card.

Former referee Dermot Gallagher gave his thoughts on the incident surrounding the defender on Sky Sports Ref Watch.

“I think this was really really lucky throughout the game, it wasn’t just this, he committed a number of offences,” he said.

“Ironically he got yellow carded later in the game for delaying the restart but I don’t think that’s a red card if it’s a yellow card he can’t argue and if he gets a yellow card, it may stop him from committing a number of the challenges he committed after.”

What Mikel Arteta did to sign Raheem Sterling

Raheem Sterling has struggled so far in his time on loan at Arsenal, with the winger failing to make a huge impact with the team.

As a result, it now seems bizarre to see the lengths to which Mikel Arteta went to personally push through a deal for the forward.

According to The Athletic, the Arsenal boss personally pushed for the club to make the signing, with it deemed a “low-risk” option.

With Sterling failing to make much of an impression, he is set to make a return to Chelsea in the summer at the end of his loan.
