Arsenal are preparing a new contract to Thomas Partey on one main condition Arsenal Insider understands.
Partey was expected to leave the club this summer as his deal runs out at the end of the season but it seems that Mikel Arteta is not giving up on the midfielder just yet.
Any new contract offer would depend on the Ghanaian taking a pay cut but the Gunners are open to discussing a new deal.

William Saliba reveals stance on Arsenal future
William Saliba has two years left on his Arsenal deal and the club are preparing to offer a new contract to the French defender that Arsenal Insider understands would make him one of the highest paid at the club.
Real Madrid are said to be interested in signing Saliba but TBR Football’s transfer expert Graeme Bailey has provided an update on Saliba’s stance at the Gunners.
Bailey explained: “Arsenal are not ignorant to the fact Saliba has emerged as one of the world’s top defenders, and although he still has two-years left on his deal, they acknowledge that he is due a pay rise.
“He is a little way behind the likes of [Kai] Havertz, [Martin] Odegaard and [Declan] Rice and to put him in the same bracket as those players is logical.”

Arsenal fans impressed by young defender Marli Salmon
Marli Salmon recently joined the Arsenal record books by playing for the U21 side at just 15 years of age. He impressed in that appearance with many fans comparing his style to that of Saliba.
In Arsenal’s FA Youth Cup defeat, Salmon once again stood out with his composure in possession and tenacity in the tackle.
His physicality is striking to witness and he looks like another real prospect coming through from the Hale End ranks and fans are excited to see his development in the coming years.
