Currently, Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka and Trossard all have more assists than Odegaard, although all three have played more matches.

However, the Belgian insists that the Arsenal captain remains the number one player ‘you can expect everything from’ when he’s on the ball.

Leandro Trossard on Martin Odegaard’s vision

Leandro Trossard has picked Martin Odegaard as the Arsenal player with the best vision in the squad, overlooking the likes of Eberechi Eze, Rice and Saka.

The £30m midfielder is often the player that the Gunners look to in order to create the most chances, which is something he is naturally gifted at.

This season, Odegaard is still averaging the most chances created per 90 minutes, with 2.6, and that is despite Rice and Saka taking corners.

When asked which player has the best vision in the team, Trossard told The Premier League Show: “I would say Martin.

“Yeah, he has that, I think, naturally and also probably developed it when he was younger, and when he’s on the ball, you can expect everything from him. So, he’s probably the one.”

Odegaard has been in poor form recently and has drawn a fair amount of criticism from the media and supporters.

His performance against Manchester United saw him dropped for the trip to Elland Road, as he failed to create a single chance in the 3-2 defeat.

Kai Havertz has taken Martin Odegaard and Eberechi Eze’s spot

Right now, Odegaard is out injured and has been replaced in the team by Kai Havertz, who has impressed in the number ten role.

Mikel Arteta is even picking Havertz ahead of Eze, which might suggest that he is not happy with either of his number ten options at the moment.

When he is back, the captain must lift his game if he is to return to Arteta’s starting line-up with Havertz stepping up in the last few games.
