Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta has been busy conducting talks within the squad to see which players he can keep for the future.
It comes as the Gunners have several stars nearing the end of their contracts in the coming year or two, leaving the side vulnerable to potential exits.
Arsenal are stepping up talks with Thomas Partey over a new deal, with the midfielder’s stay set to expire this summer.
Beyond him, there are question marks over the futures of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba, who all have two years left under contract.
While all of that is going on, Andrea Berta appears to be closing in on a new contract for one Arsenal star in particular.

Arsenal in “advanced talks” over new contract for Leandro Trossard
Arsenal star Leandro Trossard is entering the final year of his contract at the club this summer, creating some questions over his own future.
The Belgian has impressed since joining from Brighton in 2022, becoming a regular part of the first team at the Emirates Stadium.
While he doesn’t always get the headlines, Trossard has featured in every league game for Arsenal this season, the only outfield player to do so.
With a mixture of quality and availability, Berta has seemingly made his move to keep the star for longer.
That’s because, according to the BBC, Trossard is now in “advanced talks” with Arsenal over a new contract.
Trossard has been linked with a transfer exit; however, it’s been claimed that talks have ramped up in recent weeks.
Berta is claimed to have handled the most recent set of talks, while the player himself is open to staying.
It remains to be seen exactly what the length of that contract could be, but it certainly points towards an extension for a key member of the squad.

New Leandro Trossard contract extension would be a huge boost for Mikel Arteta
While some of the superstars within the Arsenal squad will get the focus, there is no doubt that Mikel Arteta would be delighted by Trossard’s potential extension.
The versatility of the star, along with his ability on the ball and in front of goal, are clearly needed for the wider purpose of the squad.
Arteta was full of praise for the Belgian international back in 2024, when he said: “He is a little magician. He is a big threat. So composed, so cool.”
| Appearances | Goals | Assists |
|---|---|---|
| 55 | 10 | 9 |
With his consistent availability, Arsenal will be hoping for plenty more memorable moments from Trossard in the future.
