Arsenal were held to a 2-2 draw against Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, but Gabriel Martinelli’s display really impressed former Reds star Jose Enrique.

The Gunners really wanted to win the game last weekend and we started exactly like that. We went 2-0 up inside 30 minutes and were in complete control of the game.

However, Liverpool clawed their way back and earned a point.

Why Pele Is Overrated.

Jose Enrique praises Arsenal star Gabriel Martinelli’s performance vs Liverpool

Arsenal were sensational in the first half against Liverpool on Sunday, and Martinelli was one of our best players.

The Brazilian started on the left wing as usual and gave Trent Alexander-Arnold a torrid time. He scored the opener after just eight minutes before assisting Gabriel Jesus 20 minutes later to double our lead.

Martinelli was a constant threat in the first half. When he’s in full flow, he’s unplayable, and Enrique was blown away with his display at Anfield on Sunday.

The Spaniard tweeted: “Very underrated player.

“Love him. Top talented player and he works so hard offensively and defensively.”

If Arsenal had won the game at Anfield, we’re sure Martinelli would’ve been named the Man of the Match.

The Insider’s View:

Martinelli is the best Brazilian attacker in the world at the moment.

Yes, we know that sounds like a bit of an exaggeration, but his numbers this season have been sensational, and they speak for themselves.

The Arsenal number 11 has scored 14 goals in the Premier League this season – more than any other Brazilian in Europe’s top-five leagues, including Neymar and Vinicius Jr.

That is an outstanding return for someone so young, and there’s no doubt about the fact that he’ll get even better in the coming years.
