Arsenal fans will be itching for their side to return to Premier League action to bounce back from the defeat at Liverpool.

Mikel Arteta’s side face Nottingham Forest upon return from the international break in a chance to redeem themselves in front of their home fans.

Nedum Onuoha has criticised Arsenal by claiming that they are over-reliant on Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard, falling short of standards in their absence.

A number of Arsenal stars have already faced criticism this season, including Gabriel Martinelli and former Premier League striker Louis Saha thinks the club might have a player similar to Olivier Giroud on their hands.

Louis Saha thinks Viktor Gyokeres will take time to settle at Arsenal

Speaking on the latest episode of ‘The Athletic FC’ podcast, former Manchester United forward Saha believes that Viktor Gyokeres will take time to settle in at Arsenal.

Alan Pardew thinks Arsenal fans should be concerned with Gyokeres after his lack of impact in two big away games so far this campaign.

However, Saha has compared the Swede to Giroud and how he took time to adapt to English football, but also how Arsenal had to adapt to his playing style too.

Saha stated: “But to be honest, I can see where a player like Olivier Giroud had a lot of trouble convincing a lot of fans because he was going after Thierry Henry.

“So now, settling for a player that has really done really well in the Portuguese League, but doesn’t have those kinds of attributes that Arsenal fans are used to, it’s gonna be a big pressure for him.

“They will expect always more, you know, yes, goals are good, but sometimes it’s about like, take on the style of Arsenal and the way they play or they used to play way higher because there is games in a Champions League.

“There is games that you need to actually win and there is like elements where the confidence that you brings are maybe a bit more. So I think he’s a top player, but it’s not the kind of like skills that you expect from Arsenal strikers.

“This is my opinion, I may be wrong, but yes, I understand that there is a need of balance and this is why I think Arsenal is playing a bit more rougher than what they used to be back in the day.”

Even Thierry Henry took time to settle into life at Arsenal

Even Arsenal’s all-time top goalscorer Thierry Henry took his time settling in to new surroundings in North London.

Henry didn’t score his first goal in the Premier League until his eighth appearance in a 1-0 victory away at Southampton.

Arteta is not helping Gyokeres by leaving him with little creativity on the pitch to create chances and space for the striker.

However, with the likes of Odegaard and Eberechi Eze fully firing after the international break, it is likely an upturn in form for Gyokeres will occur.
