Luis Enrique wants Paris Saint-Germain to create Champions League history against Arsenal by defending their European crown.

The Spanish manager is adamant that his team are ready for the Champions League final and he believes that PSG can defend their title.

Speaking ahead of PSG’s final Ligue 1 match, Enrique said: “Writing history is not about winning the first Champions League, it’s about winning the second, that’s what makes history.

“I don’t remember anything. If you think about the past, you get distracted. I am convinced we can win the second Champions League in a row, and I want everyone to be ready.”

Ousmane Dembele injury update ahead of facing Arsenal

However, there will now be fears over the fitness of Ousmane Dembele, who went off injured against Paris FC on Sunday evening.

After the match, Enrique claimed that the 29-year-old was just suffering from fatigue and expects him to be ready for the final in two weeks.

Speaking to the media, the PSG boss said: “I think it’s just fatigue. What we’re saying today is just speculation, but I don’t think it’s anything serious, and there are still two weeks left.”

The French champions will now need to closely monitor the attacker over the coming weeks, but it will be interesting to see what condition he arrives in for the final.
