Lukas Podolski has had his say on the 2025/26 Premier League title race between Arsenal and Manchester City.
Mikel Arteta and Pep Guardiola are going head-to-head again for the English crown for the third time in four seasons.
City came out on top in their last two title races against the Gunners, and that is their hope this time as well.
However, Podolski believes it is Arsenal’s season.
Fill the blanks: There will be __ points between Arsenal and Man City at the Etihad.
Lukas Podolski says Arsenal will win the Premier League over Manchester City
The Premier League title race looks set to go down to the wire this season.
Arsenal have a five-point lead at the top of the table, but Manchester City’s game in hand effectively reduces the gap to just two points.
That makes the game between Arteta and Guardiola’s men at the Etihad a potential title decider, as the winner of that fixture is likely to win the title.
Lukas Podolski was never really involved in a title race with Arsenal, but he knows what it takes to win a league title, having won the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich.

The German has now backed his old club to lift the Premier League title ahead of Guardiola’s men.
When asked if Arsenal can do it, he told Flashscore: “I think so.
“Because I feel this season (there is) something extra, and I hope so, especially for Mikel. He invests a lot, and he tries a lot.”

Lukas Podolski reveals how he knew Mikel Arteta would become a manager
Podolski and Arteta spent several years together as teammates at Arsenal.
The Spaniard was also the captain of the club in that period, and the way he behaved back then convinced the attacker that he would become a gaffer one day.
Podolski said: “I am happy to have also played with him on the pitch. I also felt when I played with him, he had something extra. I felt he wanted to become a coach when he finished his career.
“He always wanted to be something extra, he always talked with Arsene Wenger after the training, after the games, so you feel he wanted to be a coach or he wanted to continue in football and seeing now to continue and to do a great job is fantastic.”
