Arsenal are set to face newly-promoted Luton Town tonight in what could be a bananaskin game for the league leaders, but they have been praised by their manager Rob Edwards.
Luton acheived promotion to the top flight via the playoffs last season, and have struggled in their debut Premier League season, but Kenilworth Road has not been an easy place to go to.
Liverpool drew and Crystal Palace lost in away ties at Luton, and it will not be an easy task for Mikel Arteta’s side. Still, they have earned praise from Edwards, who has admitted that his side face a tough test against the Gunners.
Rob Edwards highlights Arsenal danger
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Edwards shared what he believes are Arsenal’s key strengths, and highlighted how he thinks Arteta’s side are very well-rounded.
“They’re very, very strong in all aspects. They can control a game, they give very little chances away, set-pieces they’re strong, they’re quick, they’re big, technically good, so all the best!” He stated.
“They’re very well organised, they can suffocate you, they’ve got such power as well as technique and speed, so I actually think they’re a stronger outfit than last year,” he added.
“Some would argue not quite as free-flowing and not scoring as many, but I just think they’ve got such strength in every single aspect of the game now, that makes it really difficult to break them down.
“I think they’re outstanding. I know there’s been one or two changes, the goalkeeper, Declan Rice coming in, people talk about tactical tweaks but if you look at them, they’re conceding so little chances at the moment.”
Arsenal face tricky Luton Town test

Arsenal have not faced Luton Town in any competition since a 1-0 defeat in December 1991, and it will be a tough test against a physical team.
Luton have not lost by more than one goal at home, with Tottenham Hotspur coming away with a narrow 1-0 victory in their last home defeat, and Arteta has praised Edwards ahead of the meeting between the two sides.
Luton did sign Arsenal’s Albert Sambi Lokonga on loan this summer, but the midfielder has spent most of this season injured.
With tough trips to Aston Villa and Liverpool on the horizon, this is a game in which Arsenal cannot afford to slip up and drop points. All the pressure will be on the visitors, and it promises to be a hostile atmosphere on a cold Tuesday night.
