Arsenal’s victory over Manchester City did not come without drama, as there appeared to be a minor scuffle following the full-time whistle.
Man City player Kyle Walker was seen arguing with Arsenal set piece coach Nicolas Jover in a heated scene as they were heading towards the tunnel, and City are now reportedly unhappy with the coach.
Jover joined Arsenal from City in 2021, having initially worked with Mikel Arteta at the Etihad from 2019, and he would therefore have known Walker very well.
Man City unhappy with Jover
A report from the Daily Mail has now claimed that City are unhappy with the Spaniard’s behaviour, and believes that he is being hypocritical.
It is claimed at City that Jover refused to shake anyone’s hand in both of Arsenal’s league defeats to City last season and that his sudden desire to greet the City players after Mikel Arteta’s side secured victory was “disrespectful.”
It was unclear at the time what had caused the incident between Jover and Walker, but it now appears that City are unhappy with how he reacted to both victory and defeat in the past few meetings.
Sore losers?

Arsenal’s victory over City was the first in 13 attempts in the League, and it was clear that despite asserting such dominance over the Gunners before, the late winner from Gabriel Martinelli had caused anger amongst the City squad.
It may be argued that Jover perhaps felt the same way after last season’s defeats and maybe should have reacted better at the time. Still, Walker’s behaviour towards him at full-time merely highlighted that City, who are not used to losing, were extremely disappointed at the loss.
The fallout from this could be a good thing for Arsenal. On the pitch, they continued to expose City’s vulnerability without Rodri in the middle of the park, with Pep Guardiola’s side losing all three games they played whilst he was suspended, and off it, they have caused frustration at a club which, given their treble win last season, may not have been this bothered by one defeat.
