Marseille have signed Arsenal youngster Ethan Nwaneri on loan until the end of this season.
The youngster signed a new Gunners contract in the summer, and everyone expected him to get sufficient game time under Mikel Arteta in the months that followed.
However, Nwaneri has barely played this season and has even found himself out of the matchday squad in a few Premier League games.

That made it clear that he needs to leave on loan to get more minutes, and Roberto De Zerbi’s Marseille have wrapped up a deal to sign Nwaneri for the next six months.
After landing in France and visiting the Stade Velodrome, a fan outside asked Nwaneri what William Saliba told him about the club.
Nwaneri replied, as per Fabrizio Romano on X: “William Saliba told me that Olympique Marseille is one of the best clubs in the world.”

Saliba spent a whole year on loan at Marseille in the 2021/22 season.
The Frenchman impressed everybody during his time there, and it was his performances for the Olympians that convinced Arsenal manager Arteta that he was ready for the Premier League.
Saliba hasn’t forgotten about his time at Marseille, and the French club’s fans have fallen back in love with him for pushing Nwaneri in their direction.

Nwaneri and Saliba don’t play in the same position, but the teenager should be looking up to the France international.
The centre-back joined Marseille on loan after a six-month spell at OGC Nice. Many people felt that his Arsenal career was over at that point, but Saliba did not let that happen.
The former Saint-Etienne man was outstanding all season for the Olympians and made a fantastic name for himself in his home country.
Nwaneri should be looking to do the exact same thing in the next six months. He definitely has the talent, and against relatively weaker opposition in the Ligue 1, he could thrive.
