Martin Keown sends clear Arsenal transfer demand and reveals how Mikel Arteta can solve inconsistent form

Arsenal host Dinamo Zagreb at the Emirates Stadium knowing that victory would all but secure automatic passage to the last-16.

Mikel Arteta revealed that Myles Lewis-Skelly was unable to complete training and therefore misses out on the squad, whilst there are starts for Jorginho, Jakub Kiwior and Oleksandr Zinchenko.

In another fitness boost, Riccardo Calafiori and Ethan Nwaneri return to the squad as bodies begin to return for Arsenal ahead of another busy period of fixtures.

Josh Kroenke is in attendance for the visit of Dinamo Zagreb and it is hoped that part of his visit will be to discuss the club’s transfer plans ahead of the window slamming shut.

Martin Keown has been discussing Arsenal’s current form and he believes that he has identified something that the Gunners need to do in order to stop dropping points from winning positions.

Martin Keown believes Arsenal need to find a ‘special player’

Speaking on TNT Sports pre-match coverage of Arsenal v Dinamo Zagreb, former defender Keown was speaking about how Arsenal can become more consistent in their results this season.

Keown stated: “It is concerning and if it continues they won’t end up winning the league, they closed the gap with a really good win over Spurs and then we’re back to where we were before.”

The former England international then explained that Arteta needs some help with the squad and the solution to turning these draws into victories.

Keown explained: “They have to go into the market and find that special player, but it isn’t easy.”

Karen Carney believes Arsenal could have ‘peaked’

Also speaking on TNT Sports pre-match coverage of Arsenal v Dinamo Zagreb, pundit Karen Carney expressed her concern of the impact that failing to sign a striker could have on the Arsenal squad.

Carney stated: “If they fail to deliver on a striker and get that out and out goal scorer then this squad may have peaked because they might struggle to come back from that.”

The Gunners are actively looking to strengthen their squad, Arsenal have made ‘contact’ with Benjamin Sesko and are also monitoring Matheus Cunha’s contract situation at Wolves.

Before attentions turn to transfer activity, Arteta will want to ensure his side can complete a professional job over Dinamo Zagreb and secure passage to the last-16 of the Champions League.
