Arsenal fans have been criticising Gary Neville recently for some of his comments.

The Premier League Hall of Famer often has something negative to say about the Gunners, and that infuriates the supporters.

During Arsenal’s 0-0 draw against Liverpool, Neville wanted Reds players to ‘whack’ Gabriel Martinelli for pushing Conor Bradley off the pitch.

That is absolutely unacceptable, and Martin Keown has now had his say on those comments.

If you were Conor Bradley, how would you respond to this apology from Gabriel Martinelli?

Martin Keown slams Gary Neville for his comments on Arsenal star Gabriel Martinelli

Gabriel Martinelli clearly didn’t mean to hurt Bradley.

Replays showed that the Brazil international didn’t even see the action in which the Liverpool defender hurt himself, and he misjudged the situation.

Yes, Martinelli was completely wrong to do what he did, and he rightly apologised for his actions after the game.

But what pundits like Gary Neville have said about Martinelli is not right either, and Arsenal legend Keown has had a go at the former Manchester United man.

He said on talkSPORT: “Just trying to inflame the situation when he’s [Neville] got nothing else to do in the commentary position.

“He was bored; it wasn’t a great game. He was making that the narrative.”

Keown also added: “Gabriel Martinelli is one of the nicest people I’ve met in football. He’s very courteous, he speaks to me on the touchline. When I saw what was happening, I thought it was a misinterpretation from himself.

“Frimpong was on the floor two or three times, the ball was begging to be put out of play, Arsenal didn’t do that.

“It just had this sort of tetchiness around the game, and he misread that. He made his apology, and an awful lot was made from it.”

If you could make one pundit stop talking about Arsenal, who would you choose and why?

Arsenal fans should stop listening to Gary Neville

This isn’t the first time that Neville has made an unnecessary comment about an Arsenal player, and it certainly won’t be the last.

The Sky Sports pundit is clearly looking for a reaction from the fans, and he gets what he wants more often than not when he speaks about the Gunners.

What makes it worse is that he is often wrong, never apologises and continues to say things that don’t make any sense.

So, as Arsenal fans, we should just stop listening to Neville and others like Jamie Carragher and Roy Keane.
