Martin Odegaard is loving life at Arsenal.

The Norway international first became a household name when he joined Real Madrid at the very young age of 16. He was tipped to be a superstar then.

However, things just didn’t work out for him in the Spanish capital. He was sent out on multiple loan spells, and he never found a home for himself until he came to Arsenal.

Now, Odegaard is fully settled and is aiming for big things at the Emirates.

Martin Odegaard names the one thing ‘missing’ at Arsenal

Odegaard has been a key part of Mikel Arteta’s rebuild at Arsenal.

The midfielder initially joined the Gunners on loan in January 2022 and that move was made permanent in the following summer.

Just a year later, Odegaard was named the captain of Arsenal, and he has led the side to back-to-back Premier League title challenges.

The North Londoners are one of the best teams in the world now and have top-class players in every position. However, there’s still one thing missing – silverware!

Odegaard is yet to win a trophy at Arsenal, and he is desperate to change that this season.

He told TV2: “I feel I am established in my life now. I feel like I’m at the perfect club and I’m fine at home too. So now I feel that things are in place.

“The only thing missing is for us to start winning titles with Arsenal and make it to the championship with Norway.”

Odegaard and Arsenal owner Josh Kroenke are in agreement

Odegaard is right, trophies are the only thing missing at Arsenal right now.

The Gunners have done incredibly well over the last two seasons, and finishing second behind Manchester City is not a bad achievement at all.

However, great teams and managers are remembered by the trophies they have won, and right now, Arteta only has one FA Cup to his name.

Arsenal have to win a big trophy very soon, and Gunners owner Josh Kroenke, like Odegaard, has already made his thoughts clear.

After KSE-owned Denver Nuggets lifted the NBA championship in June 2023, Arsenal remain the only team that the Kroenkes own who are yet to win the title.

So, before the start of the 2023/24 season, Kroenke sent a text to Arteta, joking that it’s Arsenal’s turn to win the Premier League next (Daily Mail).

The message from the Arsenal ownership was in a light-hearted tone, but the ambition is clear – it’s time to win big trophies!
