Mbappe deal was close
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger claimed the club were very close to signing Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe last summer. Wenger had even gone to Mbappe’s home to try and pursued him to sign, but the youngster instead opted to stay in France. With Mbappe’s price tag rising on a daily basis the chances of Arsenal signing him are reducing.
Sanchez anger
The team’s failure to perform is what’s driving Alexis Sanchez to want to leave the club. Sanchez has grown more and more frustrated at his teammates, who clearly have the talent but fail to produce on match days. Reports claim that Sanchez feels the team do not share his ambition and desire to win, and fears he won’t be able to achieve what he wants at the club. Sanchez has scored 19 goals this season and produced 12 assists.
Munich throw hat into the ring
German giants, Bayern Munich have thrown their hat into the ring in the hope of signing want-away forward Alexis Sanchez. With Sanchez’s current deal to expire in June 2018, there are many suitors for the Chilean.
Seri agents met
According to reports Jean Michael Seri’s agent has met Arsenal representatives in a view to signing the midfielder. Seri has been in fine form for Nice in Ligue 1 this season and would demand a £20m fee. Seri wants some guarantees if he does leave that he will not be sat on the bench. The 25-year-old has a £33m release clause in his contract but Nice may settle on a slightly lower deal.
Ozil contract
Arsenal’s potential failure to make the Champions League next season could save the club £850,000 in payments to Real Madrid, as part of the deal that brought Mesut Ozil to the club. Arsenal are required to pay £850,000 each year they reach the group stages of the Champions League but that looks unlikely this season.
Sunderland match
The club has been forced to put tickets for the home match against Sunderland on general sale as fans steer clear of the Emirates after a disappointing season in the Premier League. With Sunderland already relegated and Arsenal all but out of the top four race the stadium will have plenty of seats available.
Giroud waiting on future
Olivier Giroud will decide on his Arsenal future once Arsene Wenger has announced his intentions on whether he is to stay with the club. Marseille have shown a keen interest in the striker of late and look set to make a bid in the summer.
Barcelona offer players
New reports are claiming that Barcelona are willing to offer Arsenal a choice of three players to tempt the club into selling them Hector Bellerin. Barcelona could pay £35m for the full back but would also entertain a swap deal. The three possible players on offer are Ivan Rakitic, Arda Turan or Andre Gomez.
