Micah Richards claims ‘happy’ Arsenal star is now ‘really appreciated’ by supporters

Micah Richards has highlighted how much Arsenal fans now appreciate Kai Havertz since the Germany international’s move to north London.

The 24-year-old was a surprise signing from Mikel Arteta this summer as the Gunners splashed out £65m for the Chelsea attacking midfielder, whose reputation in the Premier League wasn’t the greatest.

Despite a slow start, Havertz has now molded himself into one of Arsenal’s most important players, with the versatile forward scoring in four consecutive Premier League games for the Gunners in their eight-game winning run.

And speaking on the Rest is Football, Richards has noted how comfortable Havertz looks in north London when compared to his spell at Chelsea, where the former Bayer Leverkusen star didn’t look at home.

Richards said about Havertz’s recent form: “I’m glad he has stepped up. It didn’t work out for him at Chelsea despite scoring the winning goal in the Champions League final.

“But I just feel like he’s really appreciated at Arsenal and at a time where a lot of people are doubting his position. But Arteta’s managed to find a way to get his best form, and it looks like he’s happy and got his confidence back.”
