Mikel Arteta boost as £80m Arsenal duo pushing to make squad for Sheffield United clash

Mikel Arteta could reportedly receive a huge boost ahead of Arsenal’s upcoming clash against Sheffield United in the form of Thomas Partey and Oleksandr Zinchenko.

The Gunners have missed the duo in recent weeks with Partey hardly featuring this season due to injury, whilst Zinchenko has been out since early February due to a calf issue.

With the likes of Jakub Kiwior and Jorginho impressing in recent weeks, the north London side haven’t missed Partey and Zinchenko too much in their six-game Premier League winning spell, yet the pair are now pushing for a return.

According to the Evening Standard, the two players are eager to make Arsenal’s squad that will travel up to Bramall Lane next Monday to face Sheffield United, who sit bottom of the Premier League standings.

With Arsenal also expecting Jurrien Timber and Takehiro Tomiyasu back from injury with Gabriel Jesus and Fabio Vieira now back to full fitness, Arteta’s will soon be spoilt for choice with squad options.

Indeed, Arsenal’s squad could soon be as strong as it ever has all season if returning players don’t suffer any more setbacks, something that has happened to Partey for the majority of the year.

And heading into next week’s clash against Sheffield United, Arsenal could again claim a statement win with their squad set to receive a huge boost, with the Gunners looking dangerous.

Arsenal are the form team in the Premier League having won their last six games and resurrected their title bid with some huge results against the likes of Liverpool, West Ham and more recently Newcastle United.

And next week against Sheffield United, the Gunners will want to extend this incredible Premier League winning run to seven games, adding more pressure on Liverpool and Manchester City at the top of the table.

Hope is slowly building amongst Arsenal fans that something special could happen this season, and a win against Sheffield United with returning players would add more fuel to the growing optimism.
