Arsenal take on Everton in the Premier League in what will be a tricky game.
The Gunners faced Monaco in the Champions League on Wednesday night. Even though they won 3-0, it wasn’t as easy a game as the scoreline suggests.
Everton, on the other hand, haven’t played a game for a couple of weeks. They will come into the game as fresh as possible, and Sean Dyche’s side are more than capable of hurting any team.
Mikel Arteta knows it will not be an easy game. He has now confirmed some good and bad news ahead of the clash at the Emirates Stadium.
Mikel Arteta shares Gabriel Magalhaes and Riccardo Calafiori injury update ahead of Arsenal vs Everton
Arsenal have been hurt by a lot of injuries this season.
The Gunners haven’t had a fully fit squad at any point since the start of the 2024/25 campaign. There has been one issue or another every week.
That has clearly had an impact on the results, but there is one huge positive now ahead of Everton’s visit to the Emirates on Saturday.
In his press conference, Arteta was quizzed about Gabriel Magalhaes and Riccardo Calafiori’s availability. Both players have missed the last few games due to injuries.
The Arsenal manager confirmed one good news and one bad news – Gabriel is back in training and could play against Everton, but Calafiori is not expected to be fit.
Arteta said, as per Football London: “There is a possibility with one of them to be available. He trained today. It’s Gabriel.”
On Calafiori, he added: “We’re just respecting the times that the medical department has set. We monitor him every day.”

Gabriel’s return is bad news for one Arsenal player
Gabriel is one of Arsenal’s best players, and his unavailability is never good news.
However, the Gunners have dealt with it fairly well. Jakub Kiwior has done decently in the games he has played next to William Saliba and deserves a lot of praise.
However, Gabriel’s return will likely mean that Kiwior will drop down to the bench. That is not great news for him as his form hasn’t been bad, but that is football.
Gabriel’s return is a massive boost for Arsenal – not just at the back but in attacking set-pieces as well. We’re sure Nicolas Jover has a plan for him against Everton already.
