Mikel Arteta played with several incredible players during his time at Arsenal.
The Spaniard spent five years under Arsene Wenger at the Emirates, and he was a fantastic player himself.
Arteta never really got the credit he deserved for his technical ability in the middle of the park, but he has always made sure to praise the good players who played with him.
Now, he has named his dream Arsenal five-a-side team of his former teammates.
Mikel Arteta picks Robin van Persie in his Arsenal dream team
Robin van Persie was Mikel Arteta’s captain in his first year at Arsenal.
The Dutchman was one of the longest-serving players at the Emirates at the time, and he led the Gunners’ line brilliantly.
In the 2011/12 season, which was Arteta’s first and Van Persie’s last at the club, the striker scored 37 goals and provided 11 assists in all competitions.
Van Persie was absolutely phenomenal that campaign, but his decision to highlight ‘the little boy’ inside him and leave the club for Manchester United hurt every Arsenal fan.
Now, in what will surely annoy many Gooners, Arteta has named Van Persie in his dream five-a-side team among players he played with at Arsenal.
He said during an interview on Hotstar: “One would be Santi Cazorla for sure. The other one would be Thierry Henry. The other one would be Robin van Persie for sure.
“The other one, one of my favourites, always, is Tomas Rosicky.”

Robin van Persie ruined his legacy at Arsenal
Van Persie was on track to become one of Arsenal’s greatest-ever players.
The former Dutch international scored 132 goals in 278 games for the Gunners and is the eighth-highest goalscorer in the club’s history.
Had Van Persie stayed for a few more years, he would very likely have made his way into the top four, if not higher.
By leaving for Manchester United and then celebrating after scoring against Arsenal, Van Persie completely ruined his legacy at the club.
There’s absolutely nothing he can do now to change that.
