Mikel Arteta has always been good at coming up with new ways to keep his players switched on and engaged.
Indeed, whether he’s playing You’ll Never Walk Alone in the middle of a training session before facing Liverpool or he’s drawing cartoons to tell a personal story about his own life, Arteta knows how to connect with his squad.
Arteta has even hired a professional pickpocket in the past to keep his squad alert.
Arsenal are currently in pre-season training in Singapore, and a video of the Gunners’ latest session was captured by CGTN Sports.
During the session, the Arsenal players seemed to be taking part in a new drill, and it’s a drill that may well play into the hands of Bukayo Saka.

Mikel Arteta comes up with new training drill
In the Gunners’ latest training video, you can see a routine taking place where players go off in pairs before being shown something on a piece of paper before undertaking a passing task.
If you zoom in on the video you can see the players are presented with a sheet of paper that shows the club badges of Athletic Club, Real Valladolid, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Bournemouth and Arsenal – Kepa Arrizabalaga’s career path.
It looks like this is a drill where two players have to compete to name which of their teammates’ career paths they are being shown before going on and doing some ball work.
This is a good way to keep players’ minds engaged and another good way for players to get to know their teammates and what they’ve done in their careers.
Bukayo Saka will love Mikel Arteta’s new game
Of course, the idea of a career path quiz isn’t anything new, but this is the first time we’ve seen such a thing incorporated into an Arsenal training session.
This is a new idea, but it’s one that Bukayo Saka will probably love.
Indeed, Saka took part in a career path quiz with ESPN last year against Kai Havertz, and he absolutely thrashed his teammates.
Saka seems to love these sorts of quizzes, and if they’re incorporated into Arsenal training, he will shine on the training ground even more than he already does.
