Mikel Arteta hints at fresh Arsenal injury blow
Arsenal have faced some poor injury luck over the past month, with many of their key stars missing out on important games as of late.
Martin Odegaard, Mikel Merino, Riccardo Calafiori, Kieran Tierney, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Takehiro Tomiyasu are just a few who have been out of action in the past month.
While those injury concerns have greatly impacted the squad, Mikel Arteta has hinted that yet another player could be out of action.
Speaking ahead of his side’s EFL Cup clash with Bolton, the Arsenal boss said: “I always prefer the facts to words than supposing things. Let’s see who is available tomorrow and then we can talk about dark arts…
“Unfortunately there will be a few players not available. Tomorrow you will find out.”
It remains to be seen exactly who could be out of action, but more light will be shed when team news is announced.

Raheem Sterling involvement against Bolton
Mikel Arteta could hand a full debut to Raheem Sterling when Arsenal take on Bolton on Wednesday night in the EFL Cup.
The winger has made a few cameo appearances from the bench since joining on transfer deadline day in a loan deal from Chelsea.
With the Gunners set to make some changes to the team in the cup, Sterling could get his first proper run out at the Emirates Stadium.
Discussing team news in his pre-match press conference, the Arsenal boss said: “He’s [Sterling] very good, tomorrow he has another opportunity. He’s ready, he’s hungry.”
It means the supporters may get a first glimpse of the winger’s ability, while also moving him closer to full fitness.

Martin Odegaard injury timeframe revealed
Arsenal star Martin Odegaard has been an injury concern over the past few weeks, following an ankle issue he picked up during the international break.
The playmaker immediately returned to north London for scans and a check up on the injury to get a better sense of the problem.
After missing three games, it appeared as though Odegaard could miss months of action in recovering from the problem.
However, Mikel Arteta provided a slightly more favourable timeline for the playmaker to return to action.
Speaking to the press, he said: “I think it will be a matter of weeks, but how long exactly I cannot tell.
“We might get a surprise but I think it’s unlikely he’ll be back before the international break.”
It suggests a slightly sooner return for Odegaard than some expected, potentially seeing him next month.
