Amario Cozier-Duberry is already an academy name that is familiar with Mikel Arteta and a lot of Arsenal fans.

The 18-year-old went on tour to the United States with Mikel Arteta’s side in pre-season, a clear nod to his lofty talent.

But since then, Arsenal fans are yet to catch a further glimpse of Cozier-Duberry in the first team.

Charles Sagoe Jr got his chance for Arsenal in the EFL Cup against Brentford in the last round.

And after his excellent showing against Brighton Hove Albion’s under-21 side yesterday, Cozier-Duberry now deserves his chance.

The 18-year-old hasn’t had the easiest ride for the under-21s this season so far, he has had some frustrating games, but he is still showing glimpses of his rich talent.

And now a fixture against West Ham, one in which Mikel Arteta surely needs to make a ton of changes, looks perfect for Cozier-Duberry to get his Arsenal chance.

Arteta does want to take the competition seriously, but the youngster being involved shouldn’t suggest otherwise.

Electric’ Cozier-Duberry is one of the best talents in the Hale End academy right now, and he seems right on the cusp of the first team.

Arteta needs to give Cozier-Duberry his Arsenal chance against West Ham

I’m sure all Arsenal fans will agree that the likes of Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka will need a rest in mid-week.

And although that leaves Leandro Trossard and Reiss Nelson as very capable starters, they will need some back up.

Moreover, it would seem a very good idea to give Martinelli and Saka a complete night off, relying on youngsters to help from the bench.

Arteta now has to navigate an incredibly busy period amid all of these international breaks.

And a trip to Newcastle United on the weekend surely has to take priority right now.

Cozier-Duberry and Sagoe Jr both seem ready to help Mikel Arteta and his first team at Arsenal.

And a trip to the London Stadium could be a deserved reward for their work with the U21s this season.

One option Arsenal won’t have available is Marcelo Flores.

The Mexico youth international left the club this summer and is already attracting attention for his performances for Tigres.
