Mikel Arteta was furious at Arsenal’s performance against Bournemouth and produced an angry reaction in the dressing room.

The Gunners were stunned at home by Bournemouth, losing 2-1 and allowed Manchester City to close the gap at the top of the Premier League table to six points.

Usually, after a defeat, the Spanish manager is often calm and can see the bigger picture; however, on this occasion, he was fuming.

The 44-year-old now has to lift his players back up for their Champions League game against Sporting CP and will be demanding a proper response.

Following an Arsenal defeat, Mikel Arteta is often calm; however, after his team lost to Bournemouth, the Spaniard was fuming, according to Miguel Delaney.

Arteta looked frantic on the touchline at the Emirates Stadium at the weekend and was clearly so unhappy with how his team played.

The Gunners’ performance was slammed as they looked full of fear and kept playing lackadaisical passes throughout the match.

“From what I’m told, Arteta, in such situations, when he can see the team are feeling it and he knows he needs to lift them up, Delaney told his YouTube channel.

The North London club now have to put the disappointment behind them and come back with a strong week of football against Sporting and Man City.

However, Arsenal could be without Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka, who missed Arsenal training on Tuesday lunchtime.

The pair have both picked up injury issues and are now doubtful for the massive Champions League game against the Portuguese side.

Arteta came out fighting in his press conference ahead of Sporting and insisted he is ready to help get the team back on the right track.

When asked how he is, he told the media: “Fire! I am on fire! I have done so much to be in this position. I want to get it done who have been in this journey with us.”
