Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has explained how he has helped improve Bukayo Saka when it comes to finishing his chances.
It comes as the Gunners appear to have rediscovered their goalscoring touch in their most recent matches. The north London outfit have managed to score 21 goals in their last five Premier League matches, in a run that has seen them gain momentum.
The latest goal glut came in a huge 5-0 victory over Burnley, which saw Mikel Arteta‘s team rise up to second. Martin Odegaard opened Arsenal‘s scoring with an effort from range, with Bukayo Saka doubling that lead from the penalty spot.
The England international doubled his personal tally with a smart finish from a tight angle, before Leandro Trossard and Kai Havertz sealed the thrashing with another two goals.

Mikel Arteta’s behind-the-scenes work
One of the key parts of Arsenal’s recent form in front of goal has been the impact of Bukayo Saka. The winger displayed his improvement in taking chances against Burnley, with his second goal coming from a clever shift of the ball before a powerful strike from a tough angle.
When asked about the improvement, Mikel Arteta told the media, via the official Arsenal website: “We tried with our players to make them unpredictable and I’m sure the opponents are looking at us a lot, and we have to find ways to create them problems. He’s [Bukayo Saka] got this ability and he trains a lot in many different situations in and around the box, and today he had two brilliant finishes again.”

Bukayo Saka stats
- Premier League appearances: 24
- Goals: 12
- Assists: 8
Bukayo Saka’s impressive campaign continues for Arsenal as he is starting to show that clinical edge to his game that came into question in recent months. The 22-year-old is becoming a driving force for the Gunners in their title charge and with plenty more years before his peak, he will be a key part for the future.
It remains to be seen whether Saka will be lifting silverware at the end of the campaign, but the fact that he continues to improve will be a scary thought for everyone apart from Arsenal.
