One of Arsenal’s biggest strengths this season is their squad depth.
The Gunners, thanks to their new sporting director Andrea Berta, signed eight new players in the summer transfer window.
Mikel Arteta could now field two different teams, both filled with excellent players in every single position on the pitch.
That doesn’t just make Arsenal really strong, it makes them unpredictable as well. One player could easily be branded the king of unpredictability.
Mikel Arteta says Eberechi Eze does ‘unexpected’ things when he plays for Arsenal
Arsenal surprised many people by making a move to sign Eberechi Eze in the summer.
The England international seemed like he was on his way to Spurs, but just before that move was supposed to happen, he called Arteta to see if there was any way he would sign him.
Kai Havertz’s injury opened the door for the Gunners to make their move, and the hijack was quickly completed.
Eze has been really impressive for Arsenal since he joined. His last two appearances have come in a more central role, and he has performed really well on both occasions.

Arteta was asked about the former Crystal Palace man, and he praised him.
He said, as relayed on HaytersTV: “I think he’s got this different quality, that he does things that, in the book, they’re unexpected. When you think he’s going to turn right, he goes left. When he thinks that he’s going to take another touch, he releases the ball.
“It’s his vision, he’s a player who can create those magic moments, and at some point, he can steal the ball in a way that not many players can do.
“Lucky that we have a few of those, but the more we put him in central positions, in those conditions, especially when there’s threat around him, we’re playing his strengths.”
Eberechi Eze is bringing the best out of another Arsenal player
The competition for places in the Arsenal first-team right now is incredible.
In previous seasons, there wasn’t this kind of pressure on players to perform. Most of them would still keep their place if they lost their form.
Now, every player has to be at their best – if they don’t, there’s a good chance they will be replaced by someone else.
Martin Odegaard watched Eze’s brilliant performances and realised that he had to step up. He came on against Newcastle and completely changed the game.
Eze’s brilliance will continue to bring the best out of Odegaard and vice versa. That is excellent news for the Gunners moving forward.
