Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal side have come under a lot of criticism this season.
Indeed, the Gunners aren’t necessarily the neutral’s favourite at the moment – many have criticised Arsenal for their set-pieces and their so-called ‘boring’ style of play.
However, at the heart of this team is a group of young players who are very likeable, and according to Mikel Arteta, Kai Havertz is genuinely one of the nicest people in football.
Indeed, speaking to TNT Sports, Arteta says that Havertz is a very kind, humble and hardworking person, and it’s impossible not to love him as a human.

Mikel Arteta hails Kai Havertz for his personality
Speaking to TNT Sports, Arteta hailed Havertz for his personality off the pitch.
Of course, Havertz has earned plenty of praise for his actions on the field, but, according to Arteta, he’s just as impressive an operator behind-the-scenes.
Arteta says that Havertz is impossible not to love, claiming that he’s an amazing blend of being kind, humble and honest.
“Why do you think people do love Kai? Because there does seem to be a real appreciation and warmth towards him.
“It’s impossible not to, believe me. He’s so kind. He’s so humble, so honest, so hardworking.
“When you meet his family, you understand straightaway how he’s been raised and what is important for him in life.
“And then I know Kai in the very best moments and Kai in the low moments as well, especially when I played a big injury. And man, when you see the real person, it’s very difficult to find a better person than Kai in football.”
Arsenal’s squad is likeable
As much as fans like to pick at Arsenal for their style of play and their reliance on set-pieces, even the most cynical supporter would struggle to truly dislike many of Arsenal’s players.
Indeed, as people, this squad seem to be a great group who are very down to earth.
Bukayo Saka is a perfect example, he always makes time for the staff members at Arsenal, he brings in presents at Christmas, and he seems incredibly humble.
Declan Rice is also a big personality, and he seems to be a good egg by all accounts.
Gabriel Jesus is cut from a similar cloth, he’s always laughing, even in the face of injury adversity, and he seems to be a joy to be around.
Yes, it’s easy for rival fans to dislike Arsenal’s style of football, but it’s hard to say that Mikel Arteta’s squad aren’t a good bunch of people.
