After their excellent win against West Ham, Arsenal will need to quickly refocus before the visit of Manchester United to north London on Wednesday.
Arsenal have seven games in December, starting with a visit from Ruben Amorim and his team, a manager who knocked Mikel Arteta out of the Europa League back in 2023.
The strength of Arteta’s squad has already been tested amid injuries to the likes of Martin Odegaard this season, a player who Arsenal evidently can’t live without.

Fortunately, with Thomas Partey and Mikel Merino injured, Arteta could trust those who stepped in on this occasion.
Jorginho was excellent for Arsenal, a player who can sit on the sidelines for weeks before dusting himself off for a stellar 90 minutes.
Myles Lewis-Skelly injury update emerges after Arsenal beat West Ham
That being said, when speaking at his press conference after the 5-2 win against West Ham, Arteta did confirm some injury news that fans may have missed.
Whilst reiterating the loss of Partey and Merino to injury, the Arsenal manager also confirmed that Myles Lewis-Skelly has picked up an issue.

Arteta didn’t go into detail, but confirmed that the club have five fresh injury situations to consider before Man United’s visit.
He said: “We had an issue with Gabi, we have an issue with Ricky as well, yesterday we lost Thomas and Mikel and Myles which was very bad news.
“But what I’m really happy about is Jakub [Kiwior] has to come in, he does really well. Alex the same, Jorginho, I thought he was exceptional today as well.
“That’s the level, every three days we’re going to need everybody at their best and it’s a good sign that the team can do that.”
Why was Myles Lewis-Skelly missing against West Ham?
So far this season, Lewis-Skelly has made six senior appearances for Arsenal, playing 134 minutes in total.
The 18-year-old has taken a slight step back in recent weeks with a few more senior squad players returning from injury.
But if the issue with Riccardo Calafiori is anything significant, Arsenal would definitely prefer to have Lewis-Skelly available.
In particular, the Hale End Academy graduate would have surely been earmarked for a start against Crystal Palace in the EFL Cup later this month.
Perhaps the youngster will be back by then, and supporters in N5 will certainly hope so, a period of the season when injuries are particularly unwelcome.
