It is no secret that Mikel Arteta has been in talks with Arsenal over a new contract.
The Spaniard is about to enter the final year of his current deal, and everyone at the club is desperate for him to extend his stay.
Reports claimed during the season that one of Arteta’s conditions was an improved salary, while the other was a promise that the Kroenkes will continue to back him in the transfer market.
Both of those promises seem to have been met now, as a new contract is said to be close.

Arsenal are about to double Mikel Arteta’s salary with a new contract
Mikel Arteta is already among the highest-paid managers in the Premier League.
The Spaniard signed a lucrative deal in 2024 that saw him pocket £10 million a year. That’s a healthy sum, and the Gunners boss proved to be worth every penny.
Arteta led Arsenal to a second-place finish in the 2024/25 season and then to the Premier League crown in the recently concluded campaign.
The 44-year-old has never been in a stronger negotiating position before. He could demand whatever he wants at this stage, and the Kroenkes would likely give it to him.

That’s probably what has happened now, as TeamTalk have revealed that Arteta is close to signing a massive new contract.
The report claims that the new deal will see the Arsenal boss become the highest-paid manager in the Premier League, replacing Pep Guardiola, who has left Manchester City.
Arteta will earn £20 million a year, which equates to a whopping £384,000 a week.
That will be a club record as no Arsenal manager in history has received a salary as big as that – not even the legendary Arsene Wenger.
